Good photography and lots of history

Most of the travel documentaries these days follow the narrator being filmed during the travels. Think Globetrekker, Art Wolf, and Rick Steves. But in this one, you see more of his travel guide (Mila Kissova) than of the narrator/traveler (Patrick Uskert), while he narrates without any of the chatting with the natives that you see in these other documentaries. This may or may not be your cup of tea, but don't stop watching!

The scenery is amazing and the historic and location information is thorough and very interesting. I must admit that Uskert's "golf sportscaster" voice could put me to sleep if i wasn't watching, only listening. His delivery is a bit flat...not much sense of wonder, excitement, or surprise.

This is a good overarching documentary on Slovakia, a country slightly bigger than the state of Louisiana. This one piqued my interest in exploring some of the lesser known European countries. But I wouldn't consider it a comprehensive information source. Nonetheless, worth watching for the beauty of the region.
